About Cykic Software, Inc.

The Merlin Application Suite has been developed by Cykic Software, Inc. In 1994, Cykic Software shifted its focus towards specializing in Internet applications. Merlin 2004 is the result of 10 years of research, design, and implementation.

Cykic Software, Inc. was founded in 1987 by Kit Gateley and Albert Grenier. It acquired the operating system technology - Access and SQ II - previously developed by Kit and brother Chris since 1975 - from American Computer Corp. Building a dBASE/Clipper/FoxBASE compiler on top of this OS resulted in the first verion of MultiBase being shipped in 1988. MultiBase was a multi-user, multi-tasking, networking operating system with database language support. The target market was businesses needing database applications in a network environment.

In 1994, the Internet started to make itself known. Cykic Software immediately added one of the world's first PC Web Servers to its MultiBase platform. The product was Hype-It. Cykic also was heavily involved in robot and spidering technology for the Internet, partnering with Tom Murray of ITTA to produce a "resume robot" and other recruiting and job search tools for businesses.

In 2000, with partners June Lee of Servertek and Annette Bernier of AMB Solutions, Cykic developed the first Merlin model. Known as Hermes I, Mr. Lee worked to bring it into the Korean and Chinese markets. Mostly because of the crash of the dot.coms and resulting economy, this was only somewhat successful.

The last two years has seen the emergence of the current Merlin model with its many application modules. Cykic Software continues to develop more modules, hoping to turn the Merlin platform into one of the most comprehensive Internet tools for businesses.
